Texas DUI/DWI Defense Lawyers
Many people who have been arrested for drunk driving are stressed and worried about the future. Their lives may seem out of control. At The Kyle Law Firm, we help them take control again. Our team of experienced criminal defense attorneys has what it takes to get the best possible results in courts throughout Texas.
Lawyers at our New Braunfels law firm understand the law on standardized field sobriety testing administered at the roadside and at the police station by the arresting law enforcement officer. We are also familiar with the components, strengths and flaws of the Intoxilyzer 5000 breath test machine. Whether you refused or failed a breath test, you need an experienced lawyer to help with your DWI/DUI defense.
The Kyle Law Firm handles misdemeanor and felony DWI cases for people in many different situations; whether you are facing your first DWI charges or have been arrested for drunk driving several times before, we can help. We also represent people accused of driving while under the influence of drugs other than alcohol as well as those accused of crimes related to drunk driving accidents.
When Minors Are Charged With DUI or DWI
Texas is a “zero tolerance” state for people under the age of 21. This means that minors can face severe consequences for driving after drinking alcohol. Under Texas law, they have committed a DUI if they have any detectable amount of alcohol in their systems while driving. If a minor is convicted of driving with a blood alcohol level of more than .08, the offense is considered DWI.
You Have 15 Days to Save Your License
Under Texas law, you have 15 days from the date you received a notice of suspension to request an administrative license revocation (ALR) hearing. This means that you have 15 days to prevent an automatic suspension of your driving privileges.
Failing to request the hearing will mean suspension of your license for 90 days if you failed a breath test, 180 days if you refused the test, or even longer if you have a prior DWI/DUI offense. When you have been arrested for DWI/DUI, it is important take action — talk with an attorney at The Kyle Law Firm as soon as possible.
