| Nov 6, 2013 | Uncategorized |

You might have heard about the Texas food poisoning case that has been going on for a few months now. There were around 278 reported cases of cyclospora food poisoning in Texas, and now the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention thinks the cause of this food poisoning came from cilantro imported from Mexico.

The CDC confirmed that cyclospora on cilantro imported from Mexico sickened 30 people who ate at a Mexican-style restaurant in Fort Bend County, Texas. Health investigators also stated that there was also cyclospora food poisoning found on cilantro in two other Texas restaurants and one grocery store.

After the CDC interviewed the 278 Texans who developed food poisoning, they determined that 50 percent of them had eaten fresh cilantro within two weeks of becoming sick.

Some of the symptoms of cyclospora food poisoning include watery diarrhea, fatigue, loss of appetite, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and a low-grade fever. Health officials believe that the cyclospora cases have now ended, but the emotional and physical turmoil caused by thisproduct liability could still be impacting your family.
